Core Facilities
Research in the CNCB is supported by four core facilities.
The Behaviour Core is responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of apparatus for behavioural experiments.
The Gene Expression Core provides resources for fly husbandry, maintenance of stock collections, shared laboratory space for molecular biology and fly work, and expertise in the generation of molecular reagents and transgenic flies.
The Neuroanatomy Core houses equipment for confocal microscopy and transcriptome analysis of identified neurons, and maintains and curates collections of enhancer trap lines and tools for testing neuronal connectivity.
The Optics Core develops tailored optical systems for single- or multi-photon actuation and sensing of neuronal activity.
