Liliane Bettencourt Prize for Life Sciences

Scott Waddell has received the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for Life Sciences 2014.
Each year, the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation awards the Prize to a young researcher (under 45), recognized in the scientific community for the quality of his or her international publications. In addition to the recipient’s scientific recognition, the award-winning researcher must conduct a research project that is particularly promising and be able to build a team for the project.
Since 1997, 19 researchers have received a Prize for Life Sciences.
The aim of the Fondation Bettencourt Schueller is to help maintain and develop cultural, economic and humanitarian actions in France.
The Foundation invests in the preservation of cultural heritage and encourages creative activities. In particular it supports medical research and the fight against the major diseases of our time.
